Best slippers for dad: Why these ‘genius’ $26 memory foam slippers have become a bestseller on Amazon

Father’s Day is just over a week away so if you’re still wondering what to get the man in your life who has it all these “genius” and super soft slippers might be just the present you’re after.

Amazon is selling RockDove Men’s Original Two-Tone Memory Foam Slippers for just $26.34 with free returns in 30 days if you need a different size or don’t love the style.

They’ve hit the fashion bestsellers list on the website with more than 150,000 reviews, 64 per cent of which are five stars.

Made with a rubber sole and 95 per cent cotton, the clog-style slipper easily slips on and off the foot for easy access but keeps you in it with a secure heel collar.

The waffle knitted upper lining ventilates the interior, letting your foot breathe and stay sweat-free, even as we enter the springtime months.

Most intriguingly, it’s the memory foam insole that’s earning the slippers its five-star reviews, as the material contours to the foot for pillow soft comfort.

If you suddenly need to make a dash to the supermarket or even the letterbox the rubber sole has got you covered, feeling just like a regular shoe against tile, hardwood floors and cement.

While RockDove is an American company that originally designed hiking boots, that doesn’t mean you’ll be up for shipping costs from the States - Amazon is shipping the shoes around Australia for free.

“Bought these because I wanted some cheap, hard-soled slippers to take camping, so I didn’t have to get into shoes every time I was getting in and out of the van. They’ve done well,” one customer wrote of using the shoe.

“Living in a house with wooden floors these slippers are fantastic, very warm, soft and comfortable. I have thrown them in the washing machine after a stint in the garden and they came out as good as new. Highly recommend,” said another.

A third added some expert advice: “The label that comes with these slippers mentions that it may take two days for the memory foam to fit the foot more closely and that is what I found. The slippers felt a bit loose and floppy when I first used them but are more secure on my feet after a few days of use”.
